CMI Alimentos strives for environmental sustainability<\/strong> in El Salvador through the use of renewable energies and more sustainable procedures. One of the objectives of Corporaci\u00f3n Multi Inversiones (CMI) is to achieve a long-term effect and continue to increase food security in the nations where it operates.<\/p>\n

Following up on these objectives, the corporation continues to commit to developing the highest standards in favor of environmental sustainability<\/strong>. The collaborative efforts of the CMI, CMI Alimentos and CMI Capital groups, headed by the presidents Lisa Juan Jos\u00e9 Guti\u00e9rrez Mayorga and Juan Luis<\/a> Bosch, have allowed the growth of companies with greater environmental sustainability in the region.<\/p>\n

This is due to constant innovation in its goods and systems to improve the efficiency of its operations and the use of renewable energies. The CMI Energy business sector by CMI Capital is one of the main providers of renewable energy in the region in terms of hydroelectric, wind and solar energy. This is due to the 813 MW of installed energy capacity that they have in their different plants.<\/p>\n

Businesses with environmental sustainability in El Salvador<\/h2>\n

CMI Alimentos has been able to combine numerous environmental sustainability projects<\/strong> thanks to the synergy between both CMI business units. As well as the knowledge and competence of CMI Capital in energy efficiency.<\/p>\n

CMI’s flour plant<\/a> in El Salvador, for example, obtained the first food plant in the country to achieve carbon neutral accreditation in 2020. They were able to eliminate 1,600 tons of carbon dioxide by 2021 as a result of these actions.<\/p>\n

In addition, the Corporation owns chicken farms in El Salvador that use solar panels to provide 70% of their electricity. A reduction of 575 tons of CO2 was achieved in 2021.<\/p>\n

This drive for environmental sustainability is also reflected in its Pollo Campero restaurants. Currently, they are introducing the use of packaging made with recycled materials and organic components that enhance recyclability. In the initial step, priority was given to the most used containers, such as plates, glasses, bowls, cutlery, etc.<\/p>\n

These are just some of the initiatives and activities carried out by CMI Alimentos in El Salvador. However, their initiatives to foster a culture of environmental sustainability<\/strong> extend to every nation in which they operate.<\/p>\n
