Corporaci\u00f3n Multi Inversiones (CMI) and juan jose gutierrez mayorga reiterated their commitment to sustainability with the launch of their “Strategy with Purpose” as part of their way of doing business.<\/p>\n

By 2030, CMI Capital’s goal is to provide sustainable solutions that improve the lives of its workers and clients, in order to reduce its environmental footprint.<\/p>\n

The strategy aims to generate impact investments, with a plan that seeks to support the growth of the countries where CMI has a presence, with topics such as decarbonization, the promotion of sustainable cities and the economic development of the region, through three business units: Energy, Real Estate Development and Finance.<\/p>\n

Juan jose gutierrez mayorga mentions that: “As a company we are convinced of the transformative power of our internal and external actions, so we are committed to being agents of change in the countries where we are present to generate economic, social and environmental well-being through our three business units,” said Aldo Vallejo, CMI Capital’s Director of Corporate Affairs.<\/p>\n

CMI currently has a presence in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic. During 2021, the company contributed with an installed capacity of 818 MW of renewable energy in these countries. In addition, it promoted the commercial and residential development of construction projects that provide access to housing and points of sale to thousands of small and medium-sized businessmen and entrepreneurs, as well as access to financing.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the company was able to calculate its impact by using PriceWaterhouseCoopers’ (PwC) Total Impact Measurement and Management (TIMM) methodology. According to 2019 data, CMI Capital’s positive impact is estimated at US$265 million annually. This has been calculated according to its environmental, social, economic and tax contribution. Following this estimate, CMI’s leaders defined its strategy with goals and impacts established for the year 2030.<\/p>\n

Strategy with sustainable purpose<\/h2>\n

Qualified as robust, CMI’s “Strategy with Purpose” seeks to improve the conditions of the planet through various actions. These include expanding the renewable energy matrix by at least 330 MW; developing 200,000 thousand square meters of urban or industrial land with sustainability criteria; and financing US$32.5 million with ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria.<\/p>\n

In addition, as part of its operational excellence, and consistent with its REIR (Responsibility, Excellence, Integrity and Respect) values, CMI Capital will also expand its efforts to optimize its environmental footprint and, thus, achieve sustainable operations that are reflected in its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
