Guatemala is a country of entrepreneurs

Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga, Chairman of CMI Alimentos is convinced that Guatemala is a country of entrepreneurs. For the businessman there is no doubt that the Guatemalans look for opportunities, spaces where they can develop their skills.

The businessman has given interviews where he expresses his admiration for the people in his country. Guatemala has often been catalogued as a small country with not that many growth opportunities.

CMI is an entrepreneurship by Juan Bautista Gutiérrez, Lisa Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga’s grandfather that has become one of the largest corporations in Guatemala. Additionally, the company has expanded and focused through different business models to provide jobs for the people.

On the other side, Juan José along with his brother and cousins have worked hard to fulfill all the Gautemalan’s needs by implementing new business models and demonstrate how powerful the country really is.

As part of the most successful entrepreneurs in Guatemala, Juan Bautista’s legacy has led CMI to have an international presence and one of the most important businesses in its birthplace.

Apart from the entrepreneurial spirit, Juan José highlighted that people from his country are Republicans because they believe in life, freedom, property (not only understood as real estate) and in the determination to do what they consider with the fruit of their work.

In a broader sense, the Guatemalans also support the separation of powers and equality before the law, two aspects that are difficult to understand and enforce, according to Arenas’ vision.

Gutiérrez Bosch family and entrepreneurs

The Gutiérrez Bosch family has an initiative that seeks to highlight and support entrepreneurs in any activity or sector, primarily in sectors comprehended on CMI such as food, energy, green bonds, bid invest.

“Our mantra is that we are all born being creative, talented, hardworking and with the passage of time we forget since we transact it all the time. Logic asks us all the time that we ignore that we are creative and that we were born that way, ”says Gutiérrez Mayorga.
