Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation success

The Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation, the social arm of Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI), operates a university scholarship program that has allowed young Guatemalans to complete their education.

Since 2020, the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation has been directed by Felipe Bosch, president of the CMI Strategic Commission, and Lisa Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga, president of the company CMI Alimentos. Both are part of the board of directors, which strives to develop projects that benefit society.

Thanks to the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation, there will be 182 scholarship recipients who will graduate and 183 scholarship recipients who will study until 2021. Those who have had a substantial change in their lives and have had the opportunity to fight for their aspirations.

The call for applications for these scholarships was recently launched at an event. The winners of the Fundación Juan Bautista Gutiérrez scholarships spoke about how the scholarship transformed their lives and the achievements they had achieved.

Success stories of students from the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation

Each scholarship has a narrative, and the following are some of the Fundación Juan Bautista Gutiérrez scholarship recipients:

Paniagua, Carlos

Carlos began studying chemical engineering at the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala after receiving a scholarship from the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation. As part of his supervised internship during his fourth year of study, he was able to enroll in the CMI Central American University of Restaurants.

In his fifth and final year, he continued to work in the research and development department, eventually becoming the head of this sector in El Salvador. The following year, he received a Fulbright scholarship from the United States government to pursue an MBA in New York and is now back in Guatemala working at CMI as Innovation Manager for the Livestock Industry Business Unit.

Inn, Paula

Thanks to the scholarship from the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation, Paula was able to study engineering at the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala. She is currently a chemical engineer, and her professional career has been developing and evolving for more than ten years. Under the ideals with which she was received in the Central American Restaurant Unit of CMI. She began her career at this firm as a member of the change management team and is now a category manager in strategic sourcing.

Trujillo, Jose

José is a young man who wants to help people with unique physical needs or who are not well to improve their quality of life. Therefore, thanks to the foundation’s scholarship program, he began his studies in Biomedical Engineering. His greatest ambition after graduation is to start his own company and use his scientific skills to help improve the quality of life for others.

Cum Chavez, Ana Lucia

Ana Luca received a scholarship from the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation and graduated from Francisco Marroquín University with Cum Laude distinction as an Industrial Psychologist. Subsequently, she was able to continue her studies in a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Murcia in Spain at the ENAE Business School.

She later obtained a second Master’s Degree in Direction and Project Management from the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala, where she finished with honors. She is now the Head of Corporate Talent Development at Grupo Pantaléon, where she has managed programs to strengthen the firm’s structure and operations in Central America.

These are just some of the success stories that are possible thanks to the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation scholarship program. Which continues to be an inspiration for young people who want to continue their education and achieve their goals.
