CMI in Guatemala. In the 100 years of good stories to tell of Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI), the Centro de Desarrollo y Capacitación en Harinas de Trigo (CEDECAP), founded by Molinos Modernos more than 20 years ago, invites Guatemalan entrepreneurs to enroll in a new edition of the Entrepreneurs Program that starts on January 17, 2022..

What does the entrepreneurship program offer?

The Entrepreneurship Program offers courses for people who wish to start a bakery business, providing knowledge that covers technical, financial, administrative and marketing areas so that they can generate their own income and contribute to the family economy. With this type of program, CMI is committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as work, economic growth and gender equality.

Who can attend the program

Entrepreneur Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga commented: “This program is attended by people who are about to start a baked goods business. Together with CEDECAP’s team of professionals and advisors, we help them realize ideas, objectives and work plans. We are by their side at all times and accompany them step by step in the process of building their business.”

Modalities of the entrepreneurship program

In 2022, when the course begins, there will be two modalities in the Entrepreneurship Program: virtual and face-to-face, the latter with limited capacity, strict care of security measures and governed by the epidemiological traffic light of Guatemala City and Quetzaltenango, locations where CEDECAP has offices.

The pandemic generated challenges in the field of education, especially in technical and practical areas. CEDECAP met this challenge through virtual training, follow-up phone calls, weekly Facebook Live, face-to-face visits and support for entrepreneurs in launching their businesses. Thanks to these platforms, people have been trained in different parts of the country, where there are no locations or where there was no access before.

Training successful entrepreneurs

“Our purpose is to feed your world to fill it with well-being and we make this a reality by empowering the entrepreneur, so that he/she can be successful and offer quality products where he/she develops his/her business. As a result, in the last four years we have trained more than 500 people in the Entrepreneurship Program. We are their allies and we are here to give them a hand,” said Rocío Figueroa, head of Customer Service.
